Password Vulnerability - Do not become a StubHub!

OTA and leading security organizations have been warning for years the danger of using similar combinations of the same password across multiple accounts. It is no surprise that StubHub customers are the most recent victims of a major account takeover scam perpetrated by an international cybercrime ring. The increase of data breaches (along with spearphishing) is driving an increase in account takeover incidents.

US Senate to Hold Hearing On Botnets

The Senate Crime and Terrorism Subcommittee, Chaired by Senator White House and ranking Member Graham have called for this hearing to review progress and efforts to combat botnets. Joining forces to ring the bell on companies evading online trust

Recently the Online Publishers Association (OPA), wrote a insightful commentary regarding online trust and privacy. As stated by Jason Kint is chief executive of the OPA, "Let’s ring the bell on companies that are evading trust and threatening the relationships we have built with consumers. And instead of condoning an ecosystem where unknown third parties lurk behind the scenes tracking with little transparency, let’s give consumers a simple, lasting choice like Do Not Track, as simple and ubiquitous as a “Like.”

Twitter Stock Realizes Benefit of OTA Honor Roll

Unlike other leading names in social media, Twitter (TWTR) was awarded for what it offers its users in privacy. With 255 million MAUs, the San Francisco, Calif.-based social network was acknowledged as one of the top websites for consumer protection, security and privacy by Online Trust Alliance in June. Twitter scored top marks in the Online Trust Audit and Honor Roll earning a spot among the top 29% of the 800 sites examined for its practices to protect user data.
