Craig Spiezle 
Executive Director, Founder & President

Craig is recognized as a thought leader and pioneer on the convergence of interactive marketing, society and digital commerce. Leveraging his deep understanding of privacy, security and data stewardship, Craig is a champion of best practices to help protect consumer trust and the importance of promoting the vitality and innovation of the internet.  Craig frequently briefs members of Congress representing the roles and shared responsibility of members of the ecosystem and the importance of meaningful self-regulation.  Prior to OTA, Craig spent over a decade at Microsoft in several management roles.  Most recently he was the Director of Security & Privacy Product Management, driving development of anti-spam, anti-phishing, anti-malware and privacy enabling technologies. Hired by Microsoft in 1992, Spiezle held various managerial positions including international channel development, product management, licensing and product support.  During his tenure, Spiezle championed digital inclusiveness and the societal impact of internet literacy and access. Spiezle holds a Bachelors of Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a MBA from Seattle University.   More >> 

Elizabeth Shambaugh
Director, Member Operations & Services
Liz is responsible for member support, communications and program project management while serving as a serve as a liaison to community, industry and business organizations.  She is currently responsible for the delivery of best practices documents, web content and event planning and coordinating with multi-stakeholder initiatives.  Prior to re-joining the workforce and OTA in 2004, Liz held positions at David Strong Design Group, Chateau Ste. Michelle and Teague & Associations as a graphic designer.  Liz is the chair of the Temple De Hirsch Sinai Caring Community.  She is a former treasurer for Bellevue High PTSA and past co-president of Medina Elementary PTA including many fundraising events.  Liz holds a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from the University of Cincinnati. 

Madelon Smith
VP, Director of Strategic Initiatives

Madelon joined the full time OTA staff in on September 1, 2015 after several months as a strategic advisor with both the IoT Working Group and the Advertising Integrity Working Group.  Currently Madelon serves as co-chair for these two working groups as well providing program management leadership across various OTA initiatives. Madelon comes to OTA with expertise in consumer data collection methodologies, research and digital data analytics.  Most recently she was SVP, Director of Research and Analytics with Starcom MediaVest Group, among the largest media agency networks in the world.  As a senior marketing and technology executive she developed business intelligence systems, drove applied econometrics for forecasting/optimization, led consumer measurement and implemented capture of digital metrics for marketing campaign assessment with companies including Procter & Gamble, The Coca-Cola Company, Comcast NBCUniversal, Disney/ABC Television, American Honda Motor Company, Inc. and comScore.  Madelon holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and is currently located in Los Angeles.

Jeff Wilbur
VP, Research

Jeff is the Chairman of OTA.  He has served on the OTA Board since 2009 and serves as VP of Research.  Inaddition Jeff is currently Vice President of Marketing at Iconix, Inc.  He has over 25 years of experience in high technology, all focused on bringing new, industry-transforming communications technologies to market. He has been involved at the founding stages of Ethernet, routing, switching, VOIP, unified messaging, and email authentication and services in both startups and Fortune 500 companies.  He has a BSEE from Kansas State University and MSEE from Stanford University.
